The Monteverde Store Museum at 11 Randolph St., at one time an old-fashioned country store, was owned and operated by the same family for more than 70 years. It was closed for more than 20 years before reopening as a museum. Such items as miner's supplies, dry goods, groceries, hardware, long underwear, penny candy and the store's original ledgers all recall its turn-of-the-20th-century heyday. Guided tours can be arranged with advance notice; phone the visitor center for information.
