On a mountain north of Port Maria is Firefly, the small retreat of Noël Coward, noted English playwright, actor and director. The house, 2.2 miles (3.6 km) north on Rte. A3, then 1 mile (1.6 km) west on Stuart Place track, contains the playwright's possessions; his grave is in the garden. Firefly is open daily 8-6; admission is charged. Firefly was inspired by Coward's visit to nearby Goldeneye, the home of Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond novels.
