Huron Country Playhouse, 3 kilometres (2 mi.) east, is Ontario's third largest summer theater, offering performances mid-June to early September in 660-seat and 160-seat restored, climate-controlled barns. For theater information phone (519) 238-6000 or (855) 372-9866.

Nearby Pinery Provincial Park is southern Ontario's largest forested area, with rare Carolinian and internationally significant oak savanna regions. A year-round nature center interprets this habitat.

Within the park are some 30 species of mammals, more than 300 species of birds, 800 species of plants and more than 60 types of butterflies. The 2,532-hectare (6,330-acre) park offers canoeing on a slow-moving river and 10 kilometres (6 mi.) of beachfront on Lake Huron; canoe, bicycle and cross-country ski and snowshoe rentals are available. Hiking and cross-country ski trails are numerous. Campsites are available year-round. Phone (519) 243-2220.

In mid-March thousands of tundra swans, Canada geese and ducks land near the Lambton Heritage Museum on their northward migration.
