The tidal bore is a natural phenomenon of the Salmon River's changing flow. Unlike typical tides that advance gradually, here the water rushes into the river in strong currents or even waves. A viewing area is just off Hwy. 102 exit 14 at the end of Tidal Bore Road. A timetable for the bore is available from the chamber of commerce.
