The Riverbank Discovery Centre, in addition to providing information about Brandon and the surrounding region, is the starting point for the Assiniboine Riverbank Trail System, 17 kilometres (10.5 mi.) of trails that wind throughout Brandon, linking the downtown area with parks, picnic spots and sports venues.
The Keystone Centre, sitting on some 36.4 hectares (90 acres) and offering 540,000 square feet of multi-use space, plays host to some of Manitoba's larger events, concerts and sports competitions; phone (204) 726-3500. Brandon's Community Sportsplex offers both winter and summer recreational activities. Built for the 1979 Canada Winter Games, the structure houses racquetball courts, an ice arena, swimming pool, indoor water slide and an outdoor running track; phone (204) 729-2470.
The Brandon Hills Wildlife Management Area, just a short drive south of the city on Hwy. 10 and east along Beresford Road, provides a setting for a variety of recreational pursuits such as hiking, mountain bicycling, cross-country skiing and bird-watching.
