SCENIC BYWAY

Carson Valley Scenic Drive

14.1 miles: 0 hours, 19 minutes

Carson Valley Scenic Drive begins south of Carson City and follows SR 206 (Jacks Valley Road/Main Street/Foothill Road) to Mottsville. The towns along the way lie at the base of the Sierra Nevada, the massive mountain range that is always in view on this picturesque 14-mile byway in Southwestern Nevada.

The Sierra Nevada mountains dominate the horizon on the Carson Valley Scenic Drive (SR 206), which also features fenced-in ranches and sprawling, expansive open land. In the charming town of Genoa—Nevada’s first permanent settlement—two historic attractions stand feet from the byway: Courthouse Museum Genoa and Mormon Station State Historic Park directly across the street.
