British Columbia's Scenic Trans Canada Hwy 1, Cache Creek to Alberta Border Road Trip

0.0 miles: 0 hours, 0 minutes

Scenically speaking, the portion of Trans-Canada Highway 1, that traverses British Columbia is especially rewarding. Along this route the landscape changes from flat, open savanna to ruggedly mountainous as the highway heads east toward the Alberta border. The scenic glories of Glacier and Yoho national parks in particular will take your breath away.

From Cache Creek the Trans-Canada Highway rolls through grasslands punctuated by rounded, multicolored rock bluffs. There are many lovely views as the highway winds along the shores of Little Shuswap and Shuswap lakes. The spectacularly scenic high point, however, is Rogers Pass; the vista from the summit of this pass through the Selkirk Mountains is jaw-dropping.
