Vittoria Hotel And Suites

Beautiful place, nice view from front rooms, great central location. BUT... The hotel was under renovations and we were not informed of this ahead of time. Because of the construction, the hotel restaurant was closed, and we had been counting on that restaurant for daily breakfast. Other amenities were also unavailable, and parking was limited. When we checked in, we had to wait several minutes for the elevator with our trolley of baggage, as workers were using them carrying dump carts of construction debris. The view I mentioned above wasn't nearly as enjoyable as it would have been had the windows been cleaned of all the dust and plaster spatters and drips from exterior work. We were told there is a notice of renovations on the hotel's website, but if it was there when I booked the room on June 12, I didn't see it. And once my reservation had been confirmed, I had no need to visit the website. I feel I should have received an email at least, or even a phone call, informing me that certain amenities would be unavailable during our stay, and we should have been given a discount off the rate. Unrelated to the renovations, there should be a grab bar installed in the walk-in shower, a towel bar next to the sink. There were no instructions whatsoever regarding the television remote and a channel lineup. When a staff member showed us how it worked and had us use the QR code to find the online channel listing, there were still many discrepancies in those channels. The instructions for the in-room safe were incomplete for opening the safe, and the same staff member had to come again to assist us in opening it. Seems there was a step missing in the instructions on the safe itself! We WOULD like to recognize that staff member as being outstanding in customer service: fast to arrive, very friendly and helpful. She is an asset to your hotel.
