Love that the hotel has an airport as an amenity! 😉
The obvious advantage of the Tampa Airport Marriott is its primary amenity (i.e., the airport). Checking luggage is easy. Just take the elevators/escalator down to the ticketing agent before boarding a concourse tram to your gate. It’s all very convenient. As with all hotels, there are annoyances. While the surface materials are nice, the structure feels like it was built on a tight budget. In my room, I could hear other guests in the halls and adjacent rooms, and I could feel the walls and floor vibrate when doors are closed and excited kids were running in the hall. Generally, the room was clean. However, it appeared that a prior guest with chocolatey fingers had been playing with the shear curtains. Last, it would’ve been a better experience if the breakfast buffet opened earlier than 6:30am given that my flight started boarding at 6:25am. Overall, it was a good experience with room for improvement. It’s likely I’ll choose to stay here again.
We were in an out of Tampa for bowl game. Very convenient to stay at the Airport Marriott for an early flight out the next day (and only 3 miles from the stadium). Besides great location - the staff allowed us to check in early so we could relax before the night's game.
