Lake Quinault Lodge

We visited in the off-season. There's still plenty to do, but the kitchen isn't doing individual breakfasts or lunches, which are very good during their season. However, there were very few people, the weather was amazing, and it was just what we wanted. It rained most of the time we were there, it is a rain forest. The lake was gorgeous, and there's no cell reception. There's a little shop across the street that's open for most of the year for random goods and snacks if you're not keen on the buffet. The room was very comfortable, but clearly well used. Not dirty, but you could tell that it had the worn corners and faded carpet patterns of a place that has been well used and well loved. It was warm and comfortable with an amazing view of the lake and the forest. Waking up each morning to the clouds rising off the lake, creating a view right out of fantasy was amazing. The hiking opportunities are wonderful, trails connect right to the lodge and everything is just so alive. The trails are well maintained and not too difficult, although there is a fair bit of elevation change. The way the trails are laid out you can go for almost any length hike you would like from short loops to long, winding explorations. My whole family loves this place. We'll likely be back again. The off season is the best deal in our opinion, but it's a delight at any time, I'm sure.
