This c. 1927 grande dame with Beaux-Arts-style architecture has marvelous historic details and modern-design sensibilities. It’s premier location near the Boston Public Garden and Newbury street make it an ideal spot for those looking for easy access to the Freedom trail and many of the city’s top attractions. The mixed-use lobby boasts a bevy of comfy seating nooks and an excellent bistro and bar. Guest rooms are cozy-chic, with bedding that complements the space. The impressive 20,000 square foot health club features top-of-the-line equipment and for an additional fee guests can have access to personal trainers, fitness classes, and a virtual top golf suite. It was a pretty average hotel and had the potential to be a decent stay, but when we arrived they gave us a downgraded room (we were supposed to receive a 280sq ft room with two double beds, but ended up in a 180sq ft room with one bed). This would’ve been fine, but the price difference between these rooms was kind of a lot, and the only type of refund they were willing to give us was the vacation fee back. On top of that, only two of the outlets in our bedroom worked and only one of them was bedside so my fiance had to charge his phone at night in the bathroom. Anyways, I check my credit card statements when I return home from the trip and it turns out they CHARGED me extra for the downgraded room when it was supposed to be a refund? Overall, I’m really unimpressed with the experience and will probably stay elsewhere if we return to Boston.
Booked a king room through AAA, got put in a queen room, hotel staff had no care about that , staff shrugged shoulders.

We were there during a stressful family experience and my husband got sick also; staff treated us with kindness. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the on-site restaurants.

The hotel was just ok. Not worth the price so I'm glad I got a AAA discount. Great location and lobby though. Destination fee is ridiculous. Love the water refill stations on each floor.

Comfortable bed and pillows. Fine dining. Attentive service staff. There were some room cleanliness issues but that was taken care of at check out. When double checking the room before we left, we discovered a used ****** under the bed. The electric blinds didn't work. There was some debris behind the coffee credenza. We were surprised that the only mirror in the room was in the bathroom, no second mirror in the sleeping room.
