The location was great - front desk check in woman was pleasant however, when we first entered the room I could hear water streaming down the pipes in the bathroom, then during the middle of the night my husband got up to use the bathroom and there was a roach in the bathroom. When we woke up in the morning I found another roach on the wall and then another on the baseboard by the door. The alarm clock was an hour ahead and no way to reset the time. I told the morning woman at the front desk and she apologized by did not offer any sort of compensation or offer to get the manager. Then charged us another $3.86 for parking! Don’t often go to Matthews, NC but will not stay there again as there are plenty of other hotels available in the area. Way not what we expect from a Hampton Inn and a Hilton Honors member.
I couldn't connect to the Wi-Fi after trying for 2 hours. Staff referred me to a help line that couldn't help me either. Staff suggested I come to the Lobby and use the hotel's computers, but I declined since it was late and I was in my PJs. The following day another staffer told me to go into my settings and disconnect from any previous Wi-Fi Networks. This fixed the problem. Good to know for the future. The breakfast was terrible. I poured milk into my coffee and found it was expired and spoiled. A further check of all the milk in the fridge was also expired. No coffee for me. Though there was someone putting out breakfast foods she did not check or clean out the expired milk. She just kept adding another stuff to the frighted. The eggs were over cooked. I lost my appetite. The dining area was clean and updated. The pool looked gross.
