The Grand Lodge Crested Butte is in a convenient location and might be a good place in the winter. During the summer, however, there is no air conditioning at this 5-story property. The daytime temperatures during the July days we stayed reached into the high 80s. The layout of the King Suites does not allow for sufficient cooling with the windows and fans. Only one small panel window could be opened, and unfortunately, our 3rd floor window overlooked the bus depot so it was quite loud. The bedroom part of the suite is near the main door and away from the windows and it remained warm and claustrophobic. The fact that there is no air conditioning was not clearly stated in the description. After looking at the fine print in the reservation it states "comfort: heating and ceiling fans." Yes, there were ceiling fans but I assumed a 5-story large property would have air conditioning. We only stayed one of the two pre-paid nights due to the uncomfortable warmth of the room.
