The bottles of water and available tea kettle, if you call, was much appreciated. Most of the staff were very helpful and kind. The rooftop bar was just okay. They had every seat with a view reserved, which wasn’t very welcoming to hotel guests just checking out the view and atmosphere, but I did enjoy a simple quick brunch there. I would stay there again, especially due to the location which was very convenient for the subway, lots of walking options, and the theater district where I was spending most of my time.

hard to tell whether they were upgrading or letting it go
Room was worn and tired. Toilet didn't flush correctly. Paint chipped and peeling in the main room and bath. Hotel lobby is in better shape. You are paying for the location (across the street from Lincoln Center). Still, way overpriced, but there aren't many other options in the area. Food at the rooftop bar (bruch) was mediocre at best.
