Had to request a nonsmoking room as our assigned room (which was requested as a nonsmoking room) was horribly smoky. New room had cigarette holes on the bedding, walls were chipped and stained, sink did not have hot water, carpeting was worn and dirty and the door bolt lock was broken. This motel is very run down and presents a safety risk, AAA should NOT recommend it.
Driving from Green Bay to Houston. Needed a convenient stop with a bed, bath, and breakfast. The Newport Days Inn offered all that. The manager said nothing about breakfast at check-in, but the notice on the wall said the free continental breakfast was available from 6AM to 9AM. We went down at 6AM to find the lobby dark, unoccupied and a notice on the door that the lobby was closed until 9AM.
