Fort Saskatchewan is located along the North Saskatchewan River, about 25 kilometres (15.5 mi.) northeast of Edmonton. The city has more than 30 kilometres (18.6 mi.) of multiuse pathways and sidewalks and numerous parks and recreation areas. It is known for the flock of sheep that graze in Peter T. Ream Historic Park during the summer months.
