The Royal BC Museum

The Royal BC Museum is on the Inner Harbour at 675 Belleville St. Two floors of displays reflect the human and natural history of British Columbia. The early 1900s Old Town Gallery has a theater with silent movies, a saloon, shops and a hotel. The Natural History Gallery showcases several different exhibits including a coastal rain forest diorama highlighted by live plants and tidal-pool animals, a life-size replica Woolly Mammoth and a climate change exhibit which explores the province’s future climate. The First Peoples Gallery includes a hall of totems, an exhibit focusing on the historic Nisga'a agreement and the present-day Nisga'a community, and Haida argillite carvings. BC Archives on Display, in the lobby of the BC Archives, showcases authentic, original records that help tell the province's story. The on-site IMAX Victoria Theatre offers films to complement the natural and human history theme of the museum as well as other exciting IMAX footage. Feature exhibits are presented annually. Food is available.
