Spruce Forest Artisan Village, .5 mi. e. on alternate US 40, has demonstrations of such Colonial and contemporary arts and crafts as bird sculpture, loom weaving, jewelry metalwork, pottery, blacksmithing and wood turning. All of the pieces the artisans create are for sale. The artisan village is on the grounds of the former Little Crossings Inn, a 19th-century stagecoach stop. The village includes 12 restored log houses and buildings, including a church and Stanton's Mill, which serve as studios for the artists. Two structures date from Revolutionary War days. Time: Allow 1 hour minimum.
