Seville Aquarium (Acuario de Sevilla)

Muelle de las Delicias, Seville, ESP

Over 400 different species of marine life spread across 35 fresh and saltwater tanks call the Seville Aquarium (Acuario de Sevilla) home. Follow in the footsteps of Magellan as you venture from the Atlantic to the Amazon and marvel over sharks in one of Spain’s deepest aquarium tanks, before visiting the ethereal jellyfish exhibit.

Many city tours pass by the Seville Aquarium, including bike, Segway, and hop-on hop-off bus options, although the latter is ideal if you want to explore the aquarium at your own pace. Alternatively, take advantage of the aquarium’s riverside location and combine a visit with a Seville sightseeing tour and boat ride along the Guadalquivir River.

However you choose to arrive, booking skip-the-line admission tickets in advance can save time on the day and allow you to maximize your visit to the shark tank, jellyfish exhibit, and kid-friendly interactive touch pool.

  • Children under four enter for free and children aged 4–14 enter for a reduced rate.

  • Guided tours of the Seville Aquarium are offered for an extra fee, as are nighttime "sleep with the sharks" experiences—both require advance booking.

  • The Seville Aquarium ticket office closes an hour before the exhibits.

  • Seville Aquarium is fully accessible for wheelchair users and strollers.

Seville Aquarium is situated on the banks of the Guadalquivir River, next to the María Luisa Park and is easily accessible by public transit. From the historic center, take bus number 3 and depart at Paseo las Delicias or arrive by bike by following one of the city’s many bike paths to the aquarium. There’s also parking nearby for those who prefer to arrive by private vehicle.

Seville Aquarium is open daily throughout the year from the mid-morning until evening, with reduced hours on select holidays. The aquarium typically stays open longer on Fridays and weekends, with the ticket office closing an hour earlier than the aquarium. Arrive at midday to escape the worst of Seville’s midday heat or visit midweek for a less crowded experience.

Aquariums are an easy family-friendly option in an unfamiliar city, but Seville’s kid-oriented options go beyond marine life. Enjoy roller coasters and explore a Spanish Galleon at Isla Mágica, the only theme park in Seville; catch an early flamenco show; or enjoy the view from the Metropol Parasol sculptures.
