Meow Wolf Santa Fe (House of Eternal Return)

1352 Rufina Circle, Santa Fe, New Mexico

One of Santa Fe’s most mind-bending attractions, Meow Wolf Santa Fe (House of Eternal Return) is a vast immersive experience that transports visitors to new dimensions. Comprising 70 artist-created rooms and environments—all seemingly contained within a normal-looking Victorian home—the exhibition tells the story of a family’s mysterious disappearance, and the resulting warping of space and time.

The first permanent installation from the boundary-pushing Meow Wolf artist collective, Santa Fe’s House of Eternal Return is one part funhouse, one part art exhibition, and one part completely unique entertainment experience. It’s also one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions (it was even funded in part by local resident George R. R. Martin), and it’s highly recommended to pre-book tickets online or via Meow Wolf’s app.

Once inside, you can explore the sprawling, 20,000-square-foot (1,858-square-meter) space at your own pace. With dozens of rooms, secret passages, and more, the labyrinth offers all manner of choose-your-own-adventure possibilities. As you go, attempt to solve the mystery of the Selig family’s disappearance, or simply get lost in the larger-than-life spectacle. Given the venue’s scale, most visits last between two and four hours; it’s worth giving yourself plenty of time to explore.

  • While much of the space is wheelchair-accessible, some narrow or crowded areas may be hard to access.
  • There are several calm spaces on site, but because of the many light and sound displays, those with sensory sensitivities may wish to avoid visiting.
  • A number of items are prohibited inside, including backpacks, strollers, laptops, vapes, and more; check the website for more info before you visit.
  • Refreshments are served at the on-site Float Café and Bar; outside food and drinks are prohibited.
  • Non-professional photos and videos are permitted at Meow Wolf Santa Fe.
  • Visitors are welcome to wear costumes, but full-face masks are prohibited, and clothes should be appropriate for the family-friendly environment.
  • There is a gift shop for those looking to pick up special souvenirs.

Meow Wolf Santa Fe is located at 1352 Rufina Circle in Santa Fe. It is roughly 15 minutes by car from downtown Santa Fe via Cerrillos Road, and free parking is available. Several bus lines, including the 2 and 290, also link downtown Santa Fe with the attraction.

Meow Wolf Santa Fe is generally open throughout the week, from late morning until evening. However, its opening hours vary, and it’s recommended to confirm specific timings via its ticketing website. The venue also hosts a range of special events, including concerts and performances, kid-friendly workshops, and adults-only evenings, which can be booked online.

One of Meow Wolf Santa Fe’s newest attractions, Rainbow Rainbow is billed as a multipurpose space for community programming, and is separate from the main exhibition area. It hosts a range of art-making workshops (which are free to visit and do not require advance reservations), and is a great destination for those looking to get creative themselves.
