Lion Country Safari, 15.5 mi. w. of I-95 exit 68 on SR 80 (Southern Blvd.), features a 4-mile safari drive through a wildlife preserve in which more than 900 animals including giraffes, wildebeests, rhinoceroses, lions, zebras, ostriches and chimpanzees roam freely. Visitors must stay in their cars with doors and windows closed. Convertibles are not permitted; rental vehicles are available. Other highlights include Safari World Amusement Park, with a giraffe feeding platform, animal encounters and a petting zoo as well as a carousel, paddleboats, water slides and a water spray ground. Pets are not permitted; free kennels are available. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available. Time: Allow 3 hours minimum.
