Flagler Museum is at Cocoanut Row and Whitehall Way. Original and period furnishings and Flagler family memorabilia grace Whitehall, the opulent 1902 Gilded Age mansion that Standard Oil founding partner and railroad magnate Henry Flagler built for his bride. With more than 75 rooms, the home was hailed as “grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world.” Restored and opened as a museum in 1960, the mansion's highlights include the marble Grand Hall, a Louis XIV-style music room and a Louis XV-style Grand Ballroom. The museum also features changing exhibits and special programs. Visitors can see Flagler's private railroad car in the Flagler Kenan Pavilion, a Beaux Arts-style railway palace. Narrated audio tours and self-guiding brochures in English, Spanish, French, German and Portuguese are available. Food is available seasonally. Backpacks and strollers are not permitted.
