Devil's Lake State Park

Devil's Lake State Park is 2.5 mi. s. on CR DL. Devil's Lake, spring fed and having no visible outlet, is bounded on three sides by the quartzite cliffs of the Baraboo Range. Bear, Lynx and Bird Indian mounds were created by ancient tribes. The 10,000-acre park is one of several units of the Ice Age National Scientific Reserve, which is under development. Naturalist programs and exhibits explain the area's glacial phenomena. This popular park features 29 miles of hiking trails including paths leading to such whimsically named rock formations as Elephant Rock and Devil's Doorway. Visitors also have access to large lakeshore picnic areas and more than 400 family campsites. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.). Recreational activities are permitted. Camping is permitted. Picnicking is permitted. Food is available.
