POINT OF INTEREST

Arcade Cleveland (Crystal Palace)

401 Euclid Ave, Cleveland, Ohio

The Arcade Cleveland, which used to be known as Cleveland’s Crystal Palace, is a landmark structure with historic wrought-iron balconies and a stunning glass atrium ceiling. Early to the indoor-shopping scene—having opened in 1890—it’s home to shops, services such as a spa and barbershop, and dining options; the mall is also conveniently located near other major attractions, and houses a hotel.

Join a tour of the city and swing by the Arcade to learn about the mall and the building's history from a knowledgeable guide. You can also visit at your convenience during a day of sightseeing, stopping to browse the shops and grab a bite to eat. The mall is located near other major attractions including the House of Blues, so it’s easy to add to your itinerary. It’s also home to the Hyatt Regency Cleveland.

  • The Arcade runs the length of the block between Euclid Avenue and Superior Avenue.

  • The inside of the Arcade is one of the most photographed interiors in the US.

  • The lower two floors of the Arcade house shops and restaurants, while the hotel occupies the rest of the space.

Set in Cleveland’s historic Gateway District, near the Theater District, the Arcade is easy to walk to from other popular attractions. The city’s Regional Transit Authority (RTA) runs free trolleys on weekdays around downtown, stopping near the Arcade. RTA’s HealthLine route also stops near the mall. There’s valet parking on-site, as well as parking options on Euclid Avenue and 6th Street.

The Arcade is open daily, but individual shop and restaurant hours may vary. Expect to run into crowds during the holiday season, when live performances take place here. Overall, the most popular time to visit Cleveland is in the summer months, but the spring and fall seasons also offer pleasant weather for exploring.

Home to sporting venues like Progressive Field and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, as well as hotels, stores, and plenty of restaurants and bars, the Gateway District is a magnet for travelers to Cleveland. Plus, it’s filled with historic buildings like the Arcade, as well as the 5th Street Arcades and East 4th Street, where you’ll find the Euclid Avenue Opera House.
