Amarillo Botanical Gardens is off I-40 exit 65 (Coulter St.) at 1400 Streit Dr. Four acres include such themed gardens as a butterfly, fragrance and Japanese garden. A tropical conservatory features a waterfall, tropical plantings and seasonal displays. Blooming season is mid-May to late October. Special exhibits and events are offered seasonally. At Music in the Gardens, visitors may enjoy live music on Thursdays from early June to early August; gates open at 6:30 p.m. Guided tours are available. Pet friendly (call for restrictions/fees.).
