Cascade Locks

The locks were submerged in 1938 by the rising backwaters of the Bonneville Lock and Dam. However, the upper portion remains in Marine Park and attests to the artistry of the dry masonry stonecutters of bygone days.

A scenic portion of I-84 passes near Cascade Locks, following the Columbia River from Troutdale 150 miles east to Boardman. The town also is an access point to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail which spans 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada.
