Hastings

A number of entertainment options are available in the vicinity. In summer Fisher Fountain at 12th Street and Denver Avenue is the site of illuminated water displays, a tradition that dates to the 1930s. In mid-October, the 2-day Cottonwood Market Days festival, which highlights fine art and Western culture, occurs in downtown Hastings. In addition Motorsport Park Hastings, at US 6 and Showboat Road, lures racing fans with a 2.3-mile, 14-turn track; phone (402) 845-2988.

Hastings is centrally located between the Platte River and the Rainwater Basin where millions of ducks, geese and sandhill cranes migrate each spring. Boating, water skiing and fishing can be enjoyed at Lake Hastings May through September.
