Tours of Lubec and Cobscook provides self-guiding audio tours, including an intertidal zone shore walk, a nature walk through an Arctic bog and a walk along historic Water Street. Tours may be downloaded online or rented from the Eastland Motel, 385 County Rd.
Boats may be chartered to view the coastal scenery as well as whales, seals and birds. Machias Seal Island, one of only three islands in Maine that serve as home to the Atlantic puffin, also is accessible by boat. Some of the highest tides in the United States occur at Johnson Bay.
