The 101,000-acre, 11,600-personnel military reservation includes camps Forsyth, Funston and Whitside, Marshall Army Air Field and the Custer Hill area. A large historical district offers some 270 stone buildings. The Commanding General's Mounted Color Guard stables are open Monday through Friday. Tours are available; phone ahead to confirm schedule. A valid driver's license or photo ID, along with vehicle registration and proof of insurance are required for entry; phone (785) 239-0967 or (785) 239-2255.
