Gibson House Yolo County Historical Museum , 512 Gibson Rd., occupies a Classical Revival-style mansion. Three outbuildings and a barn with historical exhibits also are on the grounds; phone (530) 666-1045. At the Woodland Museum of Biblical Archaeology , 240 N. West St., guided tours provide information about more than 200 excavated artifacts and antiquities dating from 4000 B.C. to 200 A.D. and how the items relate to stories in the Bible; phone (530) 662-1675.
Reiff's Retro Automobile Gas Station Museum is rather hard to miss, courtesy of the car crashed into the garage and a Cessna that appears to have landed on the roof. Gas station memorabilia, antique gas pumps and more than 200 vintage gas station signs are displayed indoors and out, and there are re-creations of a gas station, a general store, a diner and a vintage movie theater. Guided tours are given by appointment only and reservations are required; phone (530) 666-1758.
The Woodland Farmer's Market offers a summer bonanza of locally grown fruits and vegetables, fresh eggs and artisan breads. There are two locations: at Woodland Healthcare, 1325 Cottonwood St. (Tues. 4:30-7 p.m., June through August), and across from the public library at First and Court streets (Sat. 9-noon, mid-May to mid-October).
