Birds of a different feather fly freely at Wilmer National Wildlife Area, about 5 kilometres (3 mi.) north of town; bring your binoculars to peep at songbirds, woodpeckers, waterfowl and birds of prey as well as four-legged creatures including deer, elk, muskrats and beavers.
Roam down Main Street in Invermere's downtown, where flowers bloom in abundance and small-town charm pervades the boutiques, antique shops and cafés. Take in a first-run flick at the 1952 Toby Theatre.
