SS Meteor Whaleback Ship Museum

SS Meteor Whaleback Ship Museum is at 300 Marina Dr. on Barker's Island. The last remaining whaleback ship, a type of vessel that was innovative in the late 19th century, the Meteor was launched from Superior in 1896, and for the next 73 years it sailed the Great Lakes with cargoes of iron ore, oil, grain and automobiles. Guided tours are available daily on the hour.
