Wade House & Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum
AAA Editor Notes
Wade House & Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum is at W7965 SR 23. Built in 1850 along the plank road that linked Sheboygan and Fond du Lac, the 27-room Wade House Stagecoach Hotel is the centerpiece of this 240-acre state historic site. Authentically costumed guides bring to life the everyday world of a small 1860s Wisconsin community, leading tours at the Stagecoach Hotel, forging iron at the Dockstader Blacksmith Shop, and demonstrating the sawyer's craft at the Herrling Sawmill—a working reproduction of a muley-type, up-and-down water-powered sawmill.
At the visitor center, the Wesley W. Jung Carriage Museum features more than 70 carriages, wagons and sleighs dating from 1870-1915.
Guided tours are available. Food is available.
