Ledge View Nature Center

Ledge View Nature Center is 1 mi. s. of jct. SRs 32 and 57, then 1.2 mi. s. on Irish Rd. to W2348 Short Rd., following signs. Just inside the nature center, a stream runs through a large rock formation surrounded by mounted wildlife. Displays feature live animals including snakes, a large aquarium stocked with sturgeon, and bees swarming in a glass-enclosed hive. Visitors can learn about echolocation and hibernation while observing flying bats. A 60-foot-tall observation tower provides views of the surrounding grounds, caves and rock ledges. There also are 2.5 miles of trails and an arboretum. In winter months, there are opportunities for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.

Note: Insect repellant is recommended in summer months.

Guided tours are available. Picnicking is permitted. Time: Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.
