Personal Rapid Transit (PRT)

Personal Rapid Transit (PRT) connects the Evansdale and downtown WVU campuses with the central business district. This computer-operated transit system, launched in 1975, includes five stations along a 9-mile corridor and carries up to 15,000 riders per day. The automated “people mover” serves as a transportation laboratory for engineering students and urban planners. Guided tours are available by reservation.
