Grays Harbor Light Station is .5 mi. w. of Montesano St. at 1020 W. Ocean Ave. The 107-foot-tall lighthouse, commissioned in 1898, is the tallest in Washington and still an active aid to navigation. Visitors may climb the circular, 135-step iron staircase to the top of the tower to observe the Third-Order clam shell Fresnel lens and the current optic.
