Washington State Capitol Campus is w. of I-5 exit 105 to 416 14th Ave. S.E., following signs. Occupying a hill south of downtown, it includes buildings housing state legislative, judicial and administrative offices. For visitors one of the chief attractions is the attractively landscaped grounds, dotted with imposing monuments, memorials and a replica of the Copenhagen, Denmark Tivoli fountain.
The Legislative Building dominates. Completed in 1928, the capitol's 287-foot-tall masonry dome is one of the largest in the world. Louis Comfort Tiffany designed the chandelier that hangs in the rotunda. The oldest building is the 1908 Georgian-style Governor's Mansion, furnished with fine antiques. The tour desk inside the capitol's main entrance has campus and tour information.
