Rhododendron Species Botanical Garden is .25 mi. e. of northbound I-5 exit 142A to the Weyerhaeuser Way exit, then .25 mi. n., following signs; from southbound I-5 take exit 143, then .25 mi. e. on S. 320th St., then s. 1 mi. on Weyerhaeuser Way, following signs to 2525 S. 336th St. This 24-acre garden features more than 700 species of rhododendron from around the world. The alpine section displays rhododendrons and other plants adapted to survive the harsh growing conditions of high altitudes. The Rutherford Conservatory houses tropical rhododendron and some of the most rare companion plants. Of special interest is the Rhododendron Big Leaf Forest, Blue Poppy Meadow and Victorian Stumpery.
