AAA Editor Notes
Whatcom Museum is at 250 Flora St. (at Grand Ave.). This complex on the north side of downtown preserves the region's artistic and cultural legacy. The Lightcatcher Building has a two-story, curved translucent wall framing a courtyard. Rotating exhibits focus on nature, Northwest history and local artists. Displays at the all-ages Family Interactive Gallery demonstrate how people connect with art, nature and the environment. A block away at 121 Prospect St. is Old City Hall. An 1892 red-brick Victorian structure topped by a clock tower, it has a distinctive four-cornered cupola.
