Harrison Museum of African American Culture is off I-581 downtown at 1 Market Sq. S.E. in Center in the Square. With a focus on African American culture and history, the museum details the emergence of Roanoke as well as the growth of Virginia. Permanent and temporary exhibitions range from contemporary art installations to oral histories.
