The American Civil War Museum at Historic Tredegar

The American Civil War Museum at Historic Tredegar, 480 Tredegar St., interprets the Civil War from three perspectives: Union, Confederate and African American. Housed in the 1861 Tredegar Gun Foundry, the center’s flagship exhibit, In the Cause of Liberty, discusses the war’s causes, course and legacies through films, interactive displays and artifacts.

The center affords picturesque views of the James River and is a national historic landmark located near the joint visitor center for the American Civil War Museum and Richmond National Battlefield Park.
