Fort Harrison Visitor Center is off SR 5 at 8621 Battlefield Park Rd. This summer facility for Richmond National Battlefield Park offers brochures and exhibits. A walking trail leads through the remains of the fort, which was captured by 2,500 union soldiers on Sept. 29, 1864.
