Point of Honor

Point of Honor is at 112 Cabell St. The 1815 mansion was the home of one of Lynchburg’s most prominent citizens, Dr. George Cabell Sr., physician and friend to Patrick Henry. The distinctive octagon-bay facade overlooks the James River. The dwelling’s interior woodwork, furnishings and other appointments have been restored to their Federal period appearance. A re-created kitchen and a carriage house provide glimpses into early 19th-century plantation lifestyles.
