Lynchburg Museum at the Old Courthouse is at 901 Court St. Exhibits detail the history of Lynchburg and central Virginia. Built in 1855, the Greek Revival court building houses displays of Monacan Indian artifacts, Civil War memorabilia and historic photographs. Exhibits chronicle Lynchburg’s transition from a tobacco trading center in the early 1800s to a modern industrial city. Displays also highlight railroad, architecture, firefighting and World War I history.
