The Hampton University Museum

The Hampton University Museum is off I-64 exit 267 then w. on Hampton University’s Tyler St., following signs. Founded in 1868, it is the oldest African American museum in the country. Displays include a collection of traditional art objects and artifacts from North America and sub-Saharan Africa. Also featured are Native American art and works by classic African American and African artists.
