Balthis House

Balthis House is at 55 Chester St.; tickets can be purchased at the Ivy Lodge Museum. Built before the town of Front Royal was chartered, the Balthis house dates to 1787. It is one of few in the historic district to retain its original dependencies, including a smokehouse, a separate kitchen and a workshop. Guided tours detail the region’s Colonial history.
