Rising Sun Tavern is at 1304 Caroline St. George Washington's youngest brother, Charles, built the landmark in the 1760s as his private residence. It became a tavern in 1793. Today, guests can see our 260-year old property and learn all about travel and the prevalence of taverns in the Federalist Era.
