Panguitch-Escalante-Boulder Scenic Drive

Panguitch-Escalante-Boulder Scenic Drive (Scenic Byway 12) begins off US 89 at SR 12 and traverses Bryce Canyon for 124 miles. The Kaiparowits Plateau's vividly colored canyons and rock formations contrast with the heavily wooded Aquarius Plateau. Native American ruins and pictographs can be seen in this remote region. Near Escalante are extensive deposits of colorful petrified wood. From Hells Backbone, between Escalante and Boulder, there are spectacular views.
