Sand Flats Recreation Area

Sand Flats Recreation Area is .5 mi. e. on Mill Creek Dr., then 2.5 mi. n.e. on Sand Flats Rd. to the entrance booth. Within this 9,000-acre recreation area are the Slickrock and Porcupine Rim bicycle trails and nearly 40 miles of jeep trails. Native plants include pinyon pine, juniper and the cliff rose; desert cottontail rabbits, bats and mule deer are examples of the resident wildlife. The area's spectacular geological features also attract visitors.
