Waugh Drive Bridge

Waugh Drive Bridge spans Buffalo Bayou between Memorial Dr. and Allen Pkwy. The Waugh Drive Bridge is home to thousands of Mexican free-tailed bats that can be seen emerging nightly to feast on insects around Buffalo Bayou. Unlike other Texas free-tailed bat colonies, the Waugh Drive Bridge bat colony does not migrate to Mexico for the winter and can be viewed year-round. An observation deck overlooking the bridge has signs offering information about the bats.
